(RENO, Nev.) -- A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car accident on Wells Avenue near the Interstate 80 on-ramp on Wednesday morning.
According to the Reno Police Department, the vehicle was traveling south on Wells Avenue when he made a left-hand turn onto the I-80 on-ramp. The pedestrian, a 59-year-old Reno resident, was walking in a marked crosswalk.
The driver, a 24-year-old Reno resident, told police that his vision was obscured by the sun, possibly contributing to the crash.
The pedestrian was hospitalized at Renown Regional Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition, according to the police.
The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the accident.
