(CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev.) -- The Churchill County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of 11 dogs found dead in the past month.
Four dogs were reportedly found dead along Powerline Road on February 9, and seven more were found off of Casey Road over the weekend.
All 11 dogs were shot in the head. The dogs appeared to be in good health prior to being killed. The dogs ranged in both breed and size, and inclded a border collie and a Pomeranian, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Officials don't know who the owner or owners of the dogs were. Churchill County Sheriff Ben Trotter told the Gazette-Journal that anyone who kills an animal that belongs to another person could be charged with a felony. If the dogs were killed by their owner, the Sheriff is apparently looking into charging the owner with animal abuse or cruelty.
