(RENO, Nev.) -- The city of Reno is getting ready to celebrate the adoption of the Wells Avenue Neighborhood Conservation District this week.

The celebration will take place on Friday, March 1 at 12 p.m. on the corner of Holcomb Avenue and Roberts Street. During the event, Public Works Department employees will install the first of many signs to designate the district. Establishing the neighborhood as a Conservation District will recognize its historical significance without the regulations of a Historic District, according to the city's news release.

The boundaries of the Conservation District are Holcomb Avenue to the west, Locust Street to the east, Ryland Avenue to the north and Vassar Street to the south.
