Reno Police and other law enforcement agencies were called to a report of shots fired at Hug High school a little before 11:30 yesterday morning. They arrived to find that a 14-year-old boy had been shot by a Washoe County Schools Police officer. Police say the boy had been threatening other students with at least one knife. The officer reportedly ordered the boy to drop the weapon and when he failed to do so, the officer fired his pistol striking the boy once.  Officer Broadway says it’s fortunate no other students were injured. He’s asking anyone who may have more information, video, or photos of the incident call Reno Police or Secret Witness. The wounded boy is in a local hospital in critical condition.
