At 9:50 AM Saturday, Caliente Street residents returned home to find their house on fire.

Reno Fire Department Engine 5 arrived on scene six minutes later and reported smoke and flames coming from the basement of the home.

Firefighters worked quickly to knock down the fire and contained it to the basement.

Reno Fire Investigators determined the fire was accidental; an electrical problem started the fire.

There were no injuries to firefighters or residents.

RFD Chaplain Steve Arvin provided assistance to two displaced residents with the support of The American Red Cross and The Reno Firefighters’ Community Assistance Program.
