The suspect in a fatal shooting at a Tahoe City mall killed himself in a Sun Valley church the next day. Detectives identified the suspect as 52-year-old Salvador Murillo-Cabrera of Reno, and are awaiting ballistic results to confirm he was responsible. The shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. February 16th on North Lake Blvd. The victims, both men, were shot while they were in a car. The second victim has been released from a hospital. The man who died, 33-year-old Octavio Villa Villanueva of Sparks, and Murillo-Cabrera were former co-workers at a restaurant in Tahoe City. The suspect believed the victim was having an affair with his wife. The morning after the shooting, Murillo-Cabrera was found dead at a Sun Valley Catholic Church; he shot himself in a church bathroom during church service. The handgun is the same caliber weapon with the same ammunition used in the Tahoe City killing.
