Rescue Crews Pull a Body From Pyramid Lake

Rescue crews have pulled a body from Pyramid Lake after a man went under while swimming Monday. Washoe County Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon says emergency were called to Blockhouse Beach, at the southern end of the lake. Hasty Team and Search and Rescue members, plus a RAVEN helicopter, joined the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe in searching the lake. Just before 2 p.m., he was found about 50 yards from shore in water that was about 20 feet deep. The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy and release the man’s name after family has been notified.
