A fire from a junked car sent black smoke in the air in the area between Sparks and Sun Valley Wednesday afternoon. Sparks Fire Department got to the area near Sullivan Lane and El Rancho Boulevard and found an abandoned car was burning. Fire crews extinguished it and mopped up. The Sparks Fire Department did not know how the fire got started.
