Man Arrested After Three Hour Standoff in Lemmon Valley

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a felony suspect last night after a 3-hour standoff in Lemmon Valley. Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon said the negotiation started around 7:30 p.m in the 300 block of Magnolia Way, about a quarter-mile from Lemmon Valley Elementary School. 53-year-old Scott Culton was arrested shortly before 11 p.m. He was wanted for multiple felonies and was targeted as a repeat offender. No shots were fired in the incident, but Culton suffered a police dog bite to his leg and will get medical treatment, according to the sheriff’s office.
