Phil DeLone has resigned as president and chief executive officer of the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority. The statement from the RSCVA cited medical reasons. It reads in part “Mr. DeLone’s resignation will be addressed at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the RSCVA Board of Directors” and “The RSCVA wishes Mr. DeLone well as he addresses his medical needs.” DeLone was the Safari Club International boss when RSCVA hired him in November 2016. He served at Safari Club from 2012 until he joined the RSCVA. He had 20 years of employment in Reno hotels and casinos prior to that. The RGJ is reporting Delone had faced harassment allegations several times in his previous jobs.
