Governor Steve Sisolak Releases Phase 2 Guidelines

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak says that the state will begin Phase 2 of his “Roadmap to Recovery” reopening plan on Friday, allowing most businesses to reopen and paving the way for casinos and tourists to return on June 4. Governor Sisolak said his planned press conference on Tuesday was canceled out of an abundance of caution after visiting a workplace where an employee had tested positive. He then said the address would be delivered in a pre-recorded video, but due to technical difficulties, he released prepared remarks instead.

Under Phase 2, Places of worship may reopen with maximum of 50 people gathering in attendance at a time. Youth sports and recreation will be able to open under guidelines from Nevada Athletic Commission.

Live performances and live performers will not be allowed with spectators. Retail stores and indoor malls will be subject to same 50 percent capacity mandate and social distancing requirements. Indoor venues, like movie theaters, bowling alleys and indoor malls will have occupancy restrictions and must allow for six feet of social distancing. Bars that don’t serve food may reopen under 50 percent capacity with social distancing, same with gyms.

nightclubs, adult entertainment establishments and brothels will still be closed. Public gatherings of 50 or more are prohibited.
