Multiple agencies are responding to the 4,500-acre Numbers Fire off U.S. 395 south of Gardnerville. Douglas County has issued evacuation orders for residents in the Pine View Estates area and the “Out R Way” and Bodie Flat areas. Evacuation sites have been set up at the Carson Valley Inn and the Holiday Inn Express in Minden. The Douglas County Fairgrounds is open for livestock and domestic pets. Douglas County said U.S. 395 is closed between Riverview and SR 208 and Pinenut is closed at Arroyo while fire crews battle the blaze. NV Energy has shut off services in the area. No word yet on a cause.
