One Person Killed in Plane Crash Near South Lake Tahoe

One person died in a small plane crash near South Lake Tahoe yesterday [Tuesday] afternoon, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Just before 3:30 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a small plane that crashed in the community of Meyers in the South Lake Tahoe Basin. They found a single engine plane crumpled and upside down in a wooded area, with two people on board. One was killed in the crash but the other was taken to Renown Hospital in Reno. Their condition is unknown. The FAA and NTSB will be investigating the crash. The identities of the victims have not been released.
