Reno Officers Involved in Shooting on Virginia Street

The Reno Police Department says officers were involved in a shooting on Virginia Street Sunday morning. The incident happened around 8:30 am near the 6900 block of South Virginia Street when Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Reno Police officers stopped a reckless driver. Police say the suspect who was shot was taken to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. The Regional Officer-Involved Shooting Protocol has been enacted. The Sparks Police Department will be the agency investigating the shooting. The details of what led to the shooting have not been released.
