An OSHA Complaint Has Been Filed Against The Washoe County School District

An OSHA complaint has been filed against the Washoe County School District. The Washoe Education Association has contacted the Nevada Industrial Relations Office ,and is requesting an investigation into unsafe working conditions. The email says some educators are in favor of teaching in person, but adds, ” The WEA cannot sit back and wait for in-person classes to resume on August 17th, and for members to get sick with COVID-19. The consequence from the July 28th decision rests solely with the WCSD Board of Trustees and the Superintendent. ” The board ignored Washoe County Health Officer Kevin Dick’s recommendation for classes to follow the online model due to rising COVID-19 cases.
