Northern Nevada Expects 100 Afghan Refugees

Northern Nevada International Center is expecting 100 Afghan refugees in our area. Carina Black, Executive Director with the Northern Nevada International Center says they are geared toward relocating refugees. They’ll need housing, food, clothing, job, school, medical care, and they’re getting that lined up before they get here. Black says they are looking for apartment managers and landlords who will have a partnership with them because, she says, refugees are excellent renters. When they’ll arrive isn’t yet clear, they have to be vetted first.
