A suspect is in stable condition at a hospital after a shooting Wednesday afternoon by a Nevada State Police trooper in northern Washoe Valley. It began in the Bellevue area near southern Washoe Valley when there was a two-vehicle accident. A vehicle involved in that accident left the scene and a trooper found it in the area near the Chocolate Nugget towards the north end of Washoe Valley. The person associated with that vehicle was walking on Parker Ranch Road underneath the Interstate 580 overpass and that’s where the shooting took place. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
