Warming Centers Available in Reno & Douglas County

Thousands still do not have power across parts of Northern Nevada. The largest outages are in Washoe County and the Carson City area. Washoe County Emergency Management has a County-managed warming center at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center located at 4590 S Virginia St. NV Energy says full restoration could take until Tuesday for some customers.

An emergency warming shelter for people in Douglas County is now open. Residents who need a warm place to go can head to the Douglas County Community and Senior Center at 1329 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. The shelter will be on the senior side and will remain open until further notice. Anyone who plans to stay in the shelter will need to show a Douglas County identification.
