RPD Investigating Potential Vandalism at City Hall

(Reno, NV) — The Reno Police Department is still trying to figure out who or what shattered two glass windows at Reno City Hall. Part of the sidewalk along Virginia Street in front of City Hall was covered in shards of glass on Sunday, prompting its closure between First and Second streets. No one was injured by the falling windows and glass. Reno Police Chief Kathryn Nance says the windows might have had a defect, causing them to break due to wind and the building shifting. Detectives are inspecting the building and looking at security camera footage to determine a cause. City officials say replacement windows will be installed soon.
