Construction of Phase 1 of GSR Expansion Project to Start in June

(Reno, NV) — Construction of phase one of the massive Grand Sierra Resort expansion project will start in June. That is according to owner Alex Meruelo. Thursday’s announcement was made a day after Reno’s Redevelopment Advisory Board approved about 61-million dollars in tax incentives for the project. The full expansion project is expected to cost a billion dollars. A new basketball arena and a 28-hundred space parking garage are expected to open in the summer of 2027. The project also includes the addition of aqua golf and a community ice rink.
