(Fernley, NV) — Fernley City Councilman Stan Lau is behind bars on suspicion of battery. Lau was arrested on Monday afternoon, after a verbal dispute about traffic controls led to a fight. Lau is accused of grabbing a construction worker’s sunglasses and throwing them to the ground. When he went to pick them up, the councilman allegedly punched him in the face. Lau was taken into custody on a citizen’s arrest.
