(Reno, NV) — The Nevada GOP is proposing a so-called “Coyote Compound” to hold detained migrants. The idea resembles the “Alligator Alcatraz” facility in Florida. That facility, which opened in July, has been accused of human rights violations.

Meanwhile, nearly 100 protesters assembled outside of the federal courthouse in Reno on Tuesday. They are against the decision to use Homeland Security Grant funds for upgrades at Washoe County Jail, intended for ICE purposes.
