(Reno, NV) — A teen girl from Reno will stand trial for the murders of her father and younger brother. On Tuesday, Mashenka Reid was found mentally competent to stand trial. Prosecutors say the 17-year-old called 911 on February 9th and confessed to shooting both family members to death at their apartment. Reid allegedly told dispatchers she “couldn’t resist the urge to kill somebody.” She also allegedly intended to kill her two-year-old sister with a knife, but could not get into her locked bedroom.
