(Reno, NV) — Reno city and fire officials remind you to stay vigilant during “National Preparedness Month.” At a news conference on Friday, Chief Dave Cochran warned residents to prep a “to-go” bag in case an evacuation warning was issued. He also says plan a “meeting space” in case family members take different ways to get out of a burning home.
The warnings come as we approach the one-year mark of the Davis Fire, which torched a significant part of land in Washoe County.
You’re also reminded to take advantage of available dumpsters to deposit green waste, which could prevent wildfires from sparking.
