(Sparks, NV) — The RTC of Washoe County is starting construction on Sparks Boulevard next week. It is the second phase of the 86-million-dollar Sparks Boulevard Project. This phase of the project extends from the I-80 westbound ramps to Baring Boulevard. Additional improvements will reach Shadow Lane. Crews will be building a six-lane facility with three lanes in each direction, enhancing pedestrian safety, upgrading drainage and building sound walls. The full project is expected to be finished by mid-2027. A mix of federal grants and local sources are paying for it.
