(Reno, NV) — Legal gun sales across Nevada are at a standstill following last month’s major cyberattack. The background check system has been down since the cyberattack was discovered on August 24th. Without background checks, guns cannot legally be sold. David Powell is the manager of a gun store in Reno. He tells KOLO-TV the store is losing between two-thousand and eight-thousand dollars per day. He has sent a letter to Governor Joe Lombardo, urging him to temporarily give the power of background checks back to the FBI so gun sales can resume.
