(Reno, NV) — The Reno City Council is delaying a vote on whether to regulate accessory dwelling units. Wednesday’s vote was postponed due to an administrative error. Another reading is scheduled for October 8th. The ordinance is designed to amend the zoning code to add use standards, design criteria, parking standards, and a five-thousand-square-foot minimum lot size. The now delayed vote comes after the city conducted two-and-a-half years of public outreach for the ordinance. In a separate vote, the Reno City Council decided to continue its discussion on what to do with the historic Lear Theater. The other options were selling it, auctioning it off, or taking no action.
