NCAAF
Nevada Wolf Pack football continuing to gear up for the team’s matchup with New Mexico on Saturday. It will be the first time since 2016 both teams have faced off, with the Wolf Pack holding a 6-3-1 edge in the series. The Wolf Pack has won its last three against the Lobos, most recently a 34-24 victory at Mackay Stadium Oct. 28, 2023. Redshirt Sophomore Marshaun Brown told Nevada Sports Net that New Mexico is a team that can attack opponents on both sides of the ball, so they need to stay patient and take advantage of the next few days of practice. Saturday’s game kicks off at 6:45 p.m.
NHL
The Vegas Golden Knights came away with a 4-2 win over Calgary. Jack Eichel lit the lamp twice for the Knights, while Akira Schmid stopped all 19 shots he faced. Elsewhere, the San Jose Sharks fell to Carolina, 5-1. William Eklund had the only goal for the Sharks.
MLB
The Dodgers have a commanding lead in the National League Championship Series. Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw a complete game and surrendered just one run to give his side a 5-1 win over the Brewers from Milwaukee. LA will try to take a stranglehold of the best-of-seven series when it shifts to Los Angeles for Game Three on Thursday. Meanwhile, the ALCS resumes on Wednesday with a crucial Game Three from Seattle. The Mariners stole home field away from the Blue Jays and are ahead 2-0 in the series.
