Nevada men’s basketball opened its preseason schedule with a 80-77 buzzer-beater win over Utah on Saturday. Corey Camper, Jr., hit the game-winning shot with four seconds remaining. Camper led all scorers with 18 points. The Pack will round out exhibition play Saturday at 1 p.m. against Eastern Washington.

A turnover-free game wasn’t enough for Nevada, which dropped its fifth straight game, 24-22, to New Mexico on Saturday. Carter Jones completed 23-of-29 passes for 202 yards. Caleb Ramseur had two rushing touchdowns and 39 yards for Nevada. The Pack will look to break the streak Saturday when they welcome Boise State to Mackay Stadium on Homecoming.

Christian McCaffrey had 201 total yards as the 49ers knocked off the Falcons 20-10 on Sunday Night Football in Santa Clara. McCaffrey ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns to go with seven catches for 72 yards. Mac Jones finished 17-of-26 for 152 yards and an interception for the Niners, who improved to 5-and-2 on the season. Michael Penix Jr. was 21-of-38 for 241 yards and a TD for Atlanta, which slipped to 3-and-3. Bijan Robinson racked up 92 total yards but was held to just 40 rushing yards on 14 carries.
The Chiefs pitched their first shutout in over a decade and the first of coach Andy Reid’s career, beating the Raiders 31-0 at home. Patrick Mahomes threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns. Rashee Rice caught seven passes for 42 yards and two scores in his first game back from a six-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. The Kansas City defense allowed just 95 total yards in the victory. The Chiefs have won four of their last five games to improve to 4-and-3. Geno Smith completed 10 of 16 passes for 67 yards in the setback. Ashton Jeanty compiled just 34 total yards on seven touches in the Las Vegas setback. The Raiders have lost five of their last six games and are 2-and-5 this season.
MLB
The Blue Jays and Mariners are heading to Game Seven in the AL Championship Series. Toronto defeated Seattle 6-2 in Game Six at the Rogers Centre to force Game Seven. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his sixth homer of the postseason on a solo shot in the fifth inning, while Addison Barger went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Starting pitcher Trey Yesavage earned the win after tossing seven strikeouts through five-plus innings of two-run ball. The series is now tied 3-3. Josh Naylor homered for Seattle in the setback. Logan Gilbert was tagged with the loss on the mound. The Blue Jays host the Mariners in Game Seven on Monday. The winner advances to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
