Nevada Wolf Pack football gearing up for a Friday night showdown with rival Boise State. It’ll be Nevada’s homecoming game, but the bettors don’t seem to care much, listing the Pack as 22-point underdogs heading into the matchup. Coach Jeff Choate has the keys to victory.

The NBA regular season is finally here. The Association tips off with a doubleheader on Tuesday. Kevin Durant dons Rocket red for the first time in a game of consequence when Houston tries to spoil the defending champion Thunder’s banner-raising party in Oklahoma City. The nightcap features a Golden State showdown between Luka Doncic and the Lakers against Steph Curry’s Warriors from Los Angeles. Most of the league returns to action on Wednesday with a dozen games on the slate. That includes the Sacramento Kings, who visit the Phoenix Suns at 7 o’clock.
MLB
The Toronto Blue Jays are going to the World Series. The Blue Jays advanced to the 2025 Fall Classic after rallying for a 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners in Game Seven of the ALCS from Toronto. George Springer slugged a go-ahead three-run homer for the Jays in the bottom of the seventh inning. Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh each went deep for Seattle. Toronto will now take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series beginning Friday night.
Los Angeles Angels player Mike Trout will take the witness stand today during a wrongful death lawsuit against the team. The suit alleges that the Angels knew there was a drug problem in their organization and failed to stop it before pitcher Tyler Skaggs died from an overdose. The suit was filed by Skaggs’ widow and Skaggs’ parents. Back in 2019, the pitcher got the deadly drugs from Angels communications manager Eric Kay. He’s now serving a 22-year federal prison sentence in Texas for selling Skaggs the fatal pill. The Angels maintain Kay was not acting in his professional capacity when he delivered the drugs.
