From Sparks Police Department:
On October 15, 2025 at 1914 hours, Sparks Police responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Satellite Drive for a report of two deceased males found inside the residence. The reporting person advised officers that they had not heard from the resident for a few days; and came to check on him.
Upon arrival, officers found evidence that multiple gunshots had been fired inside, along with multiple firearms. Based on the circumstances, detectives were called to take over the investigation.
Based on the evidence collected thus far, investigators believe that that both males died as a result of a murder/suicide. The males were not related but lived at the residence together.
The deceased males have been identified as:
- James Smith, 78 years old
- Jaleel Martin, 31 years old
