
(Minden, NV) — A simple traffic stop in Minden turned up drugs, a firearm and stolen mail. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says it happened on October 16th. The driver admitted that the vehicle was not his and gave the officer a California driver’s license. His two passengers produced Guatemalan IDs. A search of the vehicle turned up meth, coke, a gun and mail that allegedly was stolen from mailboxes. Investigators also found 147 checks totaling nearly 150-thousand dollars. Deputies think the checks were forged. The suspects are now in jail. The feds say they’re in the country illegally.
