(Reno, NV) — Prosecutors are now getting involved after a youth football charity tournament turned into a fight over the weekend. It happened in Shasta County, California on Saturday. A juvenile player from an unnamed Reno team was tackled near the sideline of a Shasta County team. Then, a coach from Shasta County pulled the Reno player up and pushed him back toward the field. That player’s father, who’s an assistant coach for the Reno team, reportedly got involved. Viewing the incident as an assault on his son, he allegedly threw a punch. He apparently missed and instead hit a juvenile who was working at the game. That child was not seriously hurt, but that incident led to more fights. The Shasta County District Attorney is now deciding if charges will be filed.
