(Reno, NV) – In November 2025, detectives with the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) received information indicating that an individual was engaged in the sale of illegal narcotics from a residence in the area of Tripp Drive and Patton Drive in Reno.
Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Darcius Butler. On
December 31, 2025, investigators arrested Butler and executed a search warrant at his residence.
During the search, detectives recovered the following:
· Approximately 78 grams of fentanyl
· Approximately 43 grams of cocaine
· Approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine
· $3,262 in U.S. currency
The fentanyl seized was equivalent to more than 39,000 potentially lethal doses, with an estimated street value exceeding $11,700. The cocaine seized had an estimated street value of approximately $4,300.
Butler was subsequently booked into the Washoe County Jail on the following charges:
· Trafficking of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
· Possession of a Controlled Substance (three counts)
· Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (three counts)
· Child Endangerment (two counts)
The Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) is a multi-agency task force comprised of members from the Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
