On November 28, troopers were summoned to State Route 431 near Douglas Fir Drive just before 12:30 p.m. after a bicyclist was hit by a GMC Terrain. The cyclist, 42-year-old James Booth of Lafayette, California, was riding in the westbound shoulder when the crash occurred. Booth died on-scene. The driver of the GMC was not hurt.
Then, on December 21, troopers responded to a wrong-way crash along I-80 East near Pyramid Way shortly before 5 a.m. They say 27-year-old Christian Lebow struck a semi-truck towing a trailer with his Toyota Rav4. Lebow died on the scene while the truck driver suffered minor injuries.
