(Sparks, NV) – Sparks residents are pushing for parents to wait until children are a little older to give them a smartphone. At Monday’s city council meeting, Brandi Vesco introduced the “Wait Until 8th” movement to promote stronger mental health in area youth. Part of her presentation mentioned that children should be cut off from cell phone use entirely, but they should hold off on getting advanced cellular devices until they are able to process what they read online.
