(Reno, NV) — Martin Luther King Junior Day is being commemorated across Nevada today with a variety of events. In Las Vegas, the 44th annual Martin Luther King Junior Birthday Parade is scheduled to kick off today on Fourth Street beginning at ten o-clock. Transit services are running on a Saturday schedule instead of the regular Monday schedule. In Reno, dozens turned out this weekend to honor the memory of Dr. King. The Reno-Sparks chapter of the NAACP hosted the 40th annual interfaith event at McKinley Arts and Culture Center. Today, the MLK Junior Memorial Committee is hosting a caravan that will travel down a stretch of Interstate 580 that was named after Dr. King.
