(Carson City, NV) – An investigation is underway after an inmate at the Carson City Jail was found dead over the weekend. Firefighters and paramedics were summoned to the jail just after 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, but despite life-saving measures, the inmate was pronounced dead around 1:50. Their name was not released but initial reports say another inmate alerted detention staff of a medical emergency near the shower area. They were able to get the inmate in a wheelchair and to observation. At that point, they became unresponsive.They reportedly had a long history of medical challenges. Douglas County sheriff’s deputies and Nevada Investigation personnel are looking into it.
