(Reno, NV) — Reno City Council approved a 20-year extension for the Reno Aces minor league baseball stadium. The deal transfers ownership of Greater Nevada Field to the Aces, Nevada Land LLC and the Simon Group. The original usage agreement was signed in 2007 and moved the Aces from Tucson to Reno in 2009. The new deal states the Aces must stay in Reno through 2049, invest $40 million in capital investments over the span of ten years, and maintain the land and stadium. If they sell the stadium, the City would share in the profit, plus the City’s general fund is no longer the guarantor, and the risk is shifted to the RDA funds.
