(South Lake Tahoe, CA) – A former Major League pitcher was in Placer County court yesterday, hoping to get a new trial in a 2021 murder case. Daniel Serafini was convicted of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and burglary in connection with the death of his father-in-law four years ago at their Homewood home. Serafini’s former nanny Samantha Scott pled guilty to her involvement in the incident last February. No reason was given for the new trial request. More testimony is expected next week.
