(Mt. Rose, NV) — The snowpack report for the Sierra is not terrible – but it’s not great, either. Hydrologists from the federal government say the Mt. Rose snowpack is at 83-percent of normal. The measurements get worse at lower elevations where a good deal of rain has fallen in recent weeks. Rain melts snow, and now the Tahoe basin is at 60-percent of normal. The long-term forecast looks dry, so scientists are hoping the end of March provides a boost.
