(Reno, NV) — Reno Police Chief Kathryn Nance and five other Reno police officers are now on leave as a state investigation gets underway into alleged misconduct. City leaders say it involves violations of Reno city policies, but they won’t be specific. Mayor Hillary Schieve calls it one of the most difficult days in her 12 years in office. The Nevada Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation. To ensure independence, an acting Reno police chief will come from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department.
