Placer County Sheriff’s Office has found the remains of a woman in a cold case disappearance and murder from 2005. In October that year they investigated the murder of 27-year-old Christie Wilson. The investigation led to the arrest of Mario Garcia who was convicted of first-degree murder. Last week, detectives and investigators did another search around Garcia’s former home in Auburn and found skeletal remains. They were confirmed by dental records to be Christie Wilson.
