A man is in custody after shooting at officers in South Lake Tahoe early this morning. Police responded to a call around 3 a.m. on the report of a man who was trying to break into a room at an area resort. When officers arrived, the suspect shot at police with an assault-style rifle. An officer with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department returned gunfire and hit the suspect. Police say the man went back into the room leading to a two-hour standoff. The suspect eventually surrendered. No officers were hurt.
