(Las Vegas, NV) — Injured workers in Nevada could face delays in receiving medical care after the recent statewide cyberattack. Attorneys say the workers’ compensation system was hit especially hard by the ransomware-based cyberattack, which is still significantly impacting state services after more than two weeks. The system was already reeling from a backlog of workers’ comp cases during the pandemic. Injured workers whose claims are denied and need to be appealed through litigation will likely see some delays. Those delays could affect surgeries being authorized and benefit checks coming in.
