(Reno, NV) — The Nevada Department of Wildlife is commenting on security camera footage of a mountain lion in south Reno. The video from early last Friday morning shows the big cat passing through the Whole Foods parking lot along South Virginia Street. Wildlife officials say, even though the area is busy during the day, it’s not uncommon for a mountain lion to be seen in the middle of the night. Mountain lions often travel along the outskirts of town but sometimes they venture a little further inward, like where the shopping center is. NDOW says it is more concerned about bears and coyotes in populated areas.
