(South Lake Tahoe, CA) — South Lake Tahoe’s mayor is now under investigation by the El Dorado County District Attorney. That comes after Tamara Wallace admitted to stealing money from a church over an extended period of time. In a letter to the Tahoe Daily Tribune, Wallace says she stole the money while employed as the bookkeeper for the Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church. The mayor also says she recently attempted suicide. There are now calls for Wallace to resign. The church notes they fired her and called the cops before she wrote her confession.
