Reno Pro Soccer is showing off plans for a proposed six-thousand seat stadium. The organization wants community input regarding the plans – and on what to name their new team. The plans call for an 80-million dollar stadium and an entertainment district that would bring the total cost to about 200-million dollars. Reno Pro Soccer is looking for private financing. They want to build the stadium at the site of the old Jones-West Ford car dealership in south Reno.
WNBA
The Las Vegas Aces are back in town with their trophy in hand. The WNBA Champions will hold their victory parade today on The Strip. It’ll start at Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard at 5 pm.
NCAAF
Nevada Wolf Pack will make the trek to New Mexico for the first time since 2016 tomorrow when the play the 3-3 Lobos. It’s the 11th all-time meeting between both teams, with Nevada holding a 6-3-1 edge. Kickoff from University Stadium is 6:45 p.m.
MLB
The MLB playoffs continued with a pair of Championship Series matchups on Thursday. The Dodgers are now one win away from their second straight trip to the World Series after downing the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 in Game Three of the NLCS in Los Angeles. In the ALCS, the Toronto Blue Jays notched their second straight win with an 8-2 victory over the Mariners in Game Four in Seattle.
NFL
The 49ers will be in primetime sunday night as they battle the Atlanta Falcons in Santa Clara. Tight end George Kittle is expected to play after missing the last few weeks with an injury. Christian McCaffrey says that’s a major boost to the offense.
The Kansas City Chiefs will try to get above .500 for the first time this season when they host the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead on Sunday. The 3-and-3 Chiefs beat the Detroit Lions 30-17 last weekend. Kansas City already has a top-ten scoring offense in the NFL, and they’ll be getting some more help with wide receiver Rashee Rice returning from suspension. Meanwhile, the 2-and-4 Raiders snapped a four-game losing streak by beating the one-win Titans 20-10 in Week Six. Geno Smith leads the league in interceptions while quarterbacking the fourth-worst scoring offense in the league. The Raiders have dropped eight of their last nine games against Kansas City.
Last night, the Bengals won a thriller over the Steelers, 33-31.
