(Reno, NV) — There’s a new scam that’s targeting property owners and people applying for development approval in the Reno area. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says the phony email claims it’s from several Washoe County Planning Commission officials. It tries to trick people into sending money to get development applications approved. The scam can trick some people because it contains detailed property information. The Washoe County Planning Program never requests payment by email.
