Nevada Wolf Pack football is getting set for a major rivalry game tomorrow night when they host Boise State on Homecoming. Sixth-year tight end Jett Carpenter has seen what the Broncos bring each year, and he tells NSN that they need to match their physicality.

MLB
The Giants are hiring University of Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello to be their next manager. San Francisco made the formal announcement Wednesday with president of baseball operations Buster Posey calling him one of the most innovative and respected coaches in college baseball today. This marks the first time a college coach has made a jump to the majors without either coaching or playing in the pros. The 47-year-old coached the Vols for eight seasons, winning a College World Series in 2024. He takes over for Bob Melvin, who was let go after an 81-and-81 season.
NBA
The Kings started out their season with a loss. Sacramento fell to the Phoenix Suns 120-116 at the Mortgage Matchup Center. Zach LaVine scored a team-high 30 points in the losing effort. DeMar DeRozan finished with 29 points while Malik Monk came off the bench to score 19. The Kings are now 0-and-1. They host the Utah Jazz tomorrow night.
The Warriors are taking the court for their home opener. Golden State hosts the Denver Nuggets tonight in San Francisco. The team comes off a season-opening 119-109 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Jimmy Butler the Third paced the team with 31 points in the victory. The Warriors enter at 1-and-0.
